With winter upon us many divers turn to their drysuit to keep them warm, or layer up with Sharkskin. There is no doubt that drysuits are the warmest way to dive, however, not everyone can afford a drysuit and many divers still find wetsuits a convenient solution. With this in mind Neptune set out to build the ultimate cold water suit, a cross between both styles of suit but one that offers Level 9 thermal protection... introducing the Dry Ice Tech. In creating the Dry Ice Tech suit we wanted to ensure 4 primary criteria were met. The Dry Ice needed to set a new benchmark in warmth, comfort and durability, and of course while we wanted it to feel warm it needed to look cool, that�fs why it�fs called the Dry Ice. ·  WARMTH The primary function of any wetsuit or drysuit, is to keep you warm. While there is a lot of hype about all types of science when it comes to wetsuit design, it all comes down to restricting the flow of water into and out of the wetsuit and the thickness and quality of the neoprene. Neptune has a scale of 1 to 10 that defines the thermal protection that all suits offer and our goal was to produce a Level 9 suit, just one step down from a drysuit. The number one area that lets water into a wetsuit is the neck and the fastest place to lose body heat is through the head and the neck area, so in order to maximise warmth the best option is a hood attached suit. Add a rear shoulder entry zip and a high tech sealing system to keep water out and you have a semidry suit almost as dry as a dry suit. Made from the highest quality 7mm neoprene, Neo Tech Radial Stretch, this suit will keep you warm in almost any waters from Tasmania to Queensland. ·  COMFORT It can be difficult to combine comfort with the warmth of a 7mm suit, but the Dry Ice has achieved just that. It starts with the neoprene, 7mm Neo Tech Radial Stretch that takes the Dry Ice to new levels of flexibility, it has the warmth of a 7mm suit but is much more flexible and comfortable than many 5mm suits. Secondly, we have spent countless hours creating a unique fit for the hood that is extremely comfortable and being made of Neo Tech Radial Stretch, it has almost unrestricted movement. The Dry Ice is the first wetsuit incorporating our new cut that contours more closely to the body for a perfect fit.   ·  DURABILITY Quality Neo Tech Radial Stretch neoprene ensures durability, in conjunction with our latest Protech II knee and elbow pad designs, for the two highest wear areas. ·  COOL NEW LOOK We�fve employed some young graphic artists and pattern makers with a mission to create an edgy and technical look for the Dry Ice. The result is an all black suit with fantastic, technical looking textures and graphics that will make you not only look cool but feel warm in your new Dry Ice. The Dry Ice Tech Pack We know the Dry Ice Tech will appeal to the technical dive market as it is designed for extreme diving conditions. We have created an optional Tech pack which includes bellows leg pocket and accessory pocket. The Dry Ice is the first in a new generation of Neptune wetsuits that is set to take the market by storm.
