MUDGEE DIVE & TRAVEL, AQUANAUT and ALPHA DIVING can supply you with every conceivable accessory or dive related product, however, neither this website nor Aquanauts' could possibly include all the available products. I have endeavoured to include more likely ones here, even if some are in name only.

LIFT BAGS
One of the most challenging and fun skills to learn underwater issearch and recovery. No recovery can be safely carried out without the use of lift bags. Surface Marker make to useful sized lift bags:
A quality knife is an essential safety accessory in many situations so it is essential you select the right knife for your needs. It can become handy for cutting free from entanglement in fishing lines or other obstructions.
There are many options for knives! I have included ABOVE some of the knives that attach directly to BCD's. The one I use is the Squeeze Lock (in the middle above). There is an enormous range of leg mounted knives too.
Types of Steel used for Knives.
The type of steel used in knives is an important consideration that is typically overlooked when selecting a knife. I have included the following information from the Aquanaut website as a matter of interest / assistance.
316 Series Stainless
A special blend of metals which offers the highest resistance to rust, this softer metal with a lower carbon content has a Rockwell B hardness of 85-89. It can be sharpened to a good edge but will not hold the edge as long as harder steels. Since 316 is a comparatively soft metal it is not ideal for prying purposes but for active divers who cannot always rinse and maintain their gear, the 316 Series knives are recommended. All knives constructed of this material are guaranteed not to rust.
420 Series Stainless
A fairly hard steel which has good overall characteristics and a Rockwell C hardness of 54-56, it can be expected to hold a sharp edge reasonably well. The tensile strength is high making 420 better for light prying applications. Due to the higher carbon content, unpolished areas may sometimes rust when exposed to salt water. To prevent rust the blade must be rinsed with fresh water and dried after each use and a protective oil coating applied.
Techni-metal Stainless
This alloy manufactured by Technisub offers a unique compromise between holding a keen edge and being corrosion-resistant.
Hydralloy
This proprietary metal of Underwater Kinetics combines a unique blend of alloys. For anyone not wishing to purchase titanium, this is an excellent choice as it not only holds a keen edge comparable to 420 SS but also resists corrosion like 316 SS.
Titanium
For divers who demand the ultimate in corrosion resistance, a keen and long-lasting edge and strength, titanium has the benefits of being the strongest of any steel, weighing 45% less, whilst being completely rustproof. knife Economical yet functional dive knife in a range of colours.
TEK BUOYS (REQUIRES FINGER SPOOL) RRP $169.95 GRANT'S PRICE $152.95
30m FINGER SPOOL RRP $44.95 GRANT'S PRICE $39.95
The Surface Marker Tek Buoy is a Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) that should be inflated at depth prior to ascent via the opening at the bottom of the unit. The self sealing internal baffle will ensure that the unit stays fully inflated during its ascent and on the surface. The expanding air is vented via the Over Pressure Release Valve. Surface Marker Tek is available in three colour combinations:
Safety Orange - This is normally used by tech divers in most parts of the world during their ascent and decompression stop to signal the All OK.
Neon Yellow - This is normally used by tech divers in most parts of the world during ascent to signal that the diver or a member of the team has encountered a problem and may require immediate assistance by the support team. A dive slate can be attached to the top handle communicating the nature of the problem.
Orange / Yellow Combo - With both an orange and a yellow panel this is by far the most visible combo for the recreational diver. The orange panel is more visible in bright sunlight and significant glare. While the yellow panel will prove its worth as light deteriorates and the rain clouds move in. The contrast provided by the two alternating panels with the added effect of the Solas tape will ensure that you stand out.
Important Note: The colour signal codes are not standard and may vary regionally and by vessel. The Orange / Yellow Combo is the best choice for recreational divers. It is highly unlikely that recreational and tech divers will be diving the same sight and that a Orange / Yellow Combo buoy be confused for a distress signal as buoys do not remain static while attached to a line and both sides will be visible in a very short period of time.

Recreational Diving
For every diver
A must have for liveaboard trips
Deployment from your 5m Safety Stop
The WDS™ consists of 5.5m long and 2cm wide red and white webbing with a large 316 Stainless Steel ring at one end and a Marine Brass Snap Hook at the other.
At the lower end of the WDS™where the Stainless Steel Ring is attached is a small Brass Eyelet which incorporates an Elastic Bungy Cord and a Cord Stopper. The function of which is to secure the webbing before and after deployment in order to prevent entanglelation.
The Diver Signal Tube & WDS™are designed for recreational diving use only and are not designed for technical or decompression diving purposes where deeper decompression stops need to be made.
Both the deployment and retrieval of the buoy with the WDS ™ is easy and can be simulated on land before the dive in order to ensure mastery of this simple skill.
A complete system - No extra reel needed
Surface Marker’s Diver Signal Tube & WDS™ come as a complete unit and do not need any modifications or the purchase of additional reels or spools to be used.
This reliable deployment system eliminates the need of a reel or spindle making this a good alternative for the recreational diver. The 2cm / 6/8” red and white “Surface Marker” webbing is easily seen underwater and can be used by you and your buddy as a reference during your ascent or to hold onto during your Safety Stop.
The Brass Snap Hook attached to the Stainless Steel Ring on the Buoy will ensure that there is always enough weight to keep the opening of the buoy under water once inflated and will not allow the buoy to deflate even if you should let go of the complete unit.
DEPLOYMENT
Stowage and Care of your SMB
After each day of diving rinse your buoy and Webbing Deployment System WDS™ with fresh water and leave it to dry before storage. Pay particular attention to the Snap Hook while rinsing.
Operate the mechanism several times during rinsing to prevent malfunction.
Occasionally use a small amount of silicon grease on the Snap Hook to ensure ease of operation.
Do not allow your Surface Marker buoy or WDS™ to come into contact with any petroleum based products, aerosols or chemical solvents.
Do not leave your Surface Marker buoy or WDS™ exposed to excessive sunlight or extreme temperatures.
Pre-Dive Set Up - check your Surface Marker buoy and WDS™ before every dive as you should with all your dive equipment.
When selecting a cylinder for scuba diving the most important consideration should be long-term safety. A diving cylinder is a high pressure vessel that is exposed to not only the rigors of diving but also to wear and tear during transportation and general handling.
Most countries have their own standard of manufacture requirements so it is critical you buy a cylinder that meets the AUSTRALIAN standards.
Australian Cylinder Stamp Interpretation
Refer to the figure below:
Top Row Serial Number = AB1234
Middle Row Water Capacity (kg) = WC10.4kg Date of Original Hydrostatic Test = 6,95 Test Station Mark = Aust. Standard the cylinder is manufactured to = AS1777
Bottom Row Tare Weight of Bare Cylinder (kg = TW14.2kg Working (fill) Pressure (MPa) = WP24.0MPa at 15 degrees Centigrade Hydrostatic Test Pressure (MPa) = TP36.0MPa
